During my internship at Medical-X, I learned about simulation technologyโbut I also discovered something far more urgent. Preventable medical errors are one of the leading causes of death in the U.S., and most of them come down to things like poor communication, lack of training, and system overload. I couldnโt believe how few people my age even knew this was happening.
So I decided to do something about it.
I started Sim4Impact to bring hands-on medical simulation to high schools and communitiesโso students can learn how to think like clinicians, work as a team, and understand whatโs really at stake in healthcare. Itโs about more than just scienceโitโs about leadership, empathy, and fixing the system before weโre part of it.
At Sim4Impact, we believe:
Simulation lets students practice real medical scenariosโlike CPR, emergency response, and patient careโwithout the risk. It builds confidence, sharpens decision-making, and teaches how to stay calm under pressure. Itโs already used in hospitals and med schools. Weโre just bringing it to students earlierโwhen it can make an even bigger difference.
What started as one idea is now growing into a national and global movement. Weโve led workshops for hundreds of students, partnered with educators and clinicians, and even launched a maternal health project in Nigeria. And weโre just getting started.

Our goal? To make simulation part of every studentโs STEM journey. To build chapters across the country. And to show that students can lead in healthcareโbefore they ever wear a white coat.
